We had some great experiences in the Atacama Desert, even if some of the tours meant that we had to wake up ridiculously early! Highlights included seeing all of the different rock formations in Moon Valley, glimpsing some local wildlife including a couple of desert foxes, floating in a salt-dense lake, visiting one of the biggest geyser fields in the world and, last but definitely not least, the astronomical tour where we got to look through the telescope at Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and several different nebulae.
